Testimonials

It was a childhood dream come true when I got an opportunity to learn Kalaripayattu, online ( October 2020). Learning Kalari also was a chance to teach my body a new language. Shriram brings in the world's most ancient martial art form, in the best technical style, breaking it down to simple progressive steps. His passion and vast knowledge backed explanations have helped me connect the theory behind each Kalari practice with its application in today's modern world. His classes are of mixed age group and yet seems designed perfectly for each individual. His attention to detail has helped me build my physical and mental strength, and a spirit of a warrior (in his words, for the battles we fight in our mind). My inspiration for intentional movement comes from the strength in stillness, Shriram exudes. Usually I am never short of words, but writing something for Shriram seemed challenging. Like a candle to the sun 🙂

I've been learning Kalaripayattu from Shriram since September 2020. He is one of the most focused, result oriented teachers I've come across. His classes are intense and structured. Each class is designed carefully with a lot of thought put into each practice. He builds awareness, strength, flexibility, endurance and focus by constantly pushing the limits of students while keeping each person's individual needs in mind. He seamlessly blends his expertise in Yoga to bring in an extra dimension into the practice. I'm very grateful that I'm getting a chance to learn from him. I highly recommend his classes.

My kalari classes from Shriram were an eye opener. I have been following Shriram on instagram for quite sometime and when he posted about his kalari classes, I made sure to use this opportunity to learn our ancient martial art. Even though the classes were online, there was no compromise on what was being taught. Every vadivu and kicks were meticulously taught individually with corrections pointed out. Of course I loved the challenges every week. Shriram made sure we learn, practise and expertise in all movements. It was strenuous in the beginning but waking up early in the morning, learning kalari under his guidance taught me discipline and flexibility. Followed by kalari, I also took up his yoga classes in the evening; which again gave a progression in my physical and mental strength.
One hour of each class gave me month-long strength and energy that my body hasn't seen in a long time.
Thank you Shriram for your guidance. I wish to soon attend your onsite classes in the future.
